So at the moment the only way I can permanently fix the problem is by loading an old save game. I then tried loading an OLD savegame (which was saved before i messed with the game speed) and it was fine. I tried saving the game, then restarting DS (and my computer) and loading the savegame to no avail.
I managed to resolve the problem temporarily by changing resolutions (essentially reinitializing the video) but the problem would come back after a minute or so. I could tell it wasn't normal because his legs were moving normally while he was not moving normally, as if he were running on ice. FPS was unaffected (still around 20-40fps) but when telling my character to move from point A to point B, it would be much slower than usual and be very jerky. but when i changed it back to normal speed (1.0) my characters movement seemed very slow and jerky, while the rest of the game movement (creatures, weapons, character animations) were at normal speed. I was playing through the single player with my solo character recently and I decided to mess with the "game speed" setting (which allows you to change the passage of time "multiplier" if you will, from 0.2 to 1.2, 1.0 being the default) and it seemed to work fine. *edit* the title was meant to read Changing "Game Speed" but i guess it didn't like the quotes.
